This song was inspired by a friend of mine and her battle with an eating disorder. Standards of beauty and self image are so screwed up these days... Here's hoping you don't fall into that trap.

I was sitting in one of the student offices at York U when I overheard a conversation about how no one has ever written anything about how boring it must be on Mars. I used that line as a metaphor for the rut that we get into a lot as we "settle down". This was a special request by Jill Binder - I credit her with helping me get where I am, musically, so how could I refuse? Enjoy!

A friend of mine and I went through a signifigant personal ordeal together and it inspired this song. Earlier this year, she took her own life. I got to play this for her once before she died. She liked it - I hope you do as well.

I was watching Amber Lakes read at a WordPlay (before I took it over) and at one point she said "If I get a little emotional, please forgive me." I couldn't understand why an artist was appologizing for being emotional about her art. This song is about not appologizing for your emotions.

This just came out of a random chord progression and turned into a rather poignant song about a guy who's been cheated on one too many times.
